The IBBY Honour List is a biennial selection of outstanding, recently published books, honouring writers, illustrators and translators from IBBY member countries.
Congratulations to the talented individuals from Aotearoa NZ who have been honoured on the IBBY Honour List! Philippa Werry has been recognised as a writer for her book Iris and Me (Cuba Books), and Brianne Te Paa has been celebrated for her work in Te Reo Māori with Kua Whetūrangitia a Koro (Huia).
Additionally, Donovan Bixley has been acknowledged for his exceptional illustrations in A Portrait of Leonardo: The Life and Times of Leonardo da Vinci (Upstart Press), and Darryn Joseph has been recognised for his outstanding translation into Te Reo Māori with Ki Te Moe Aotearoa (Upstart Press). This recognition not only honors their individual achievements but also promotes the rich cultural tapestry and diverse voices of Aotearoa New Zealand on an international stage.
