Welcome to www.storylines.org.nz (‘the site’), a website hosted and operated by Storylines Children’s Literature Charitable Trust Te Whare Waituhi Tamariki o Aotearoa (‘we’, ‘our’, ‘Storylines’).

By viewing and using the site, you agree to our Terms of Service.

These terms apply to the entire contents of the site, to any web feeds produced by the site and to any feedback or comments provided through the site. By viewing and using the site, you agree to these terms of use.

Your details

When you register with the Storylines website, you are required to choose a contact email address and password. You should keep your password safe and not disclose it to anyone. You are responsible for all sessions and transactions taken under these details.

If your details change, please inform Storylines as soon as possible. You may update your details online by selecting ‘Update your Profile’ on our website, or alternatively feel free to contact Storylines.

Storylines disclaims and excludes all liability for any claim, loss, demand or damages of any kind whatsoever (including for negligence) arising out of or in connection with the use of either this website or the information, content or materials included on this site or on any website we link to.

Continuity of service

Storylines makes no warranty or representation, express or implied, as to continuity of service. We reserve the right to suspend, terminate or otherwise alter access to some or all of the site’s services at any time and without notice.

Contributions to www.storylines.org.nz

Other than personal information, which is covered under our Privacy Policy, any material you transmit or post to the site is considered non-confidential. This includes feedback or comments you provide.

We do not claim to own your copyright material. You do, however, grant Storylines a non-exclusive, royalty-free and irrevocable licence to:

  • publish such material in any media and in any format, including:
    • on this website
    • in email notifications or alerts
    • in web feeds, and

if your contributions to the site includes material in which copyright or other intellectual property is owned by a third party, you warrant that you have the right to use that material and to grant the licence referred to in, and on the terms of, the clause above.

Security and Online Ordering

Storylines accepts Visa and Mastercard only for credit card payments. Storylines uses Stripe for online credit card transactions, protecting the security of your data. Our website is secure, and Stripe uses a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorised access, use or disclosure.

All your transactions are completed with the security provided by high level encryption servers. Your credit card details are guarded by technology that is secure so you can pay with confidence. Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. We ensure your credit card and bank details and personal information are safe. We will never sell, trade or give your personal information that you supply to us to anyone. Your credit card details are not held by Storylines and cannot be accessed by Storylines staff.

We also offer bank transfer for any purchases, but your transaction will not be complete until we receive payment confirmation.

We charge a small fee on all credit card transactions, to cover the costs to us of credit card processing. We do not charge any additional fee for direct bank payment or transfer.

Any contract for purchases or registrations made through the website will be with:

Membership payments made through the website will be with:

All prices quoted are in $NZ and include GST where applicable. Membership fees do not attract GST.

Storylines must receive payment of the full price for any goods or services before your order/entry can be accepted and the contract formed. We will send you a receipt once payment is complete.

Storylines is entitled to withdraw from any contract in the case of obvious errors or inaccuracies regarding the goods or services appearing on our website. If an error or inaccuracy is discovered with regards to the goods/service that you have purchased, we will contact you as soon as possible by email. This will be to inform you of the correct details, and to ask you if you wish to continue with the order/entry/registration, or to cancel the order altogether.

Delivery of goods

Storylines will post, or arrange a courier on your behalf, for any goods ordered by you to the person and address you give Storylines at the time you make your order. We aim to dispatch and deliver your order to you as quickly as possible. Delivery will be made as soon as possible after your order is accepted.

Storylines will provide email confirmation of any bookings, registrations, entries or other non-product services purchased from our site. This email receipt is proof of your booking or entry.

Discounts

We may occasionally offer discounts to events or for entries to members of Storylines support organisation Friends of Storylines Ngā Pou o te Whare Waituhi Tamariki o Aotearoa.

Such discounts can only be used as specified on the Storylines site, within any time frames specified.

Revisions to these Terms of Service

Storylines may revise these Terms of use at any time. Any such revisions take effect when this page is published.

We are a national organisation working year-round to promote New Zealand children’s and young adult literature through activities that include a major national Story Tour to schools, early childhood centres and communities, and awards for writers, illustrators and those who work in the area of New Zealand children’s literature
