Elissa Weissman

Elissa Brent Weissman is an award-winning author of novels for young readers. Best known for the popular Nerd Camp series, she and her books have been featured in Entertainment Weekly, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, The Huffington Post, NPR’s “Here and Now,” and more. She has a BA in Writing Seminars from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, and an MA in Children’s Literature from Roehampton University in London.

Originally from Long Island, New York, Elissa spent many years in Baltimore City, where she taught creative writing to children, university students, and adults. She and her family have lived in – and loved – Ōtautahi Christchurch since 2019.
