Rose Northey

Rose Northey is a poet, illustrator, comedian and engineer based in Wellington, NZ.

Rose was the 2021 winner of the Storylines Gavin Bishop Award, with her storyboard for The Lighthouse Princess, a book written by Dunedin academic, poet and writer Susan Wardell. It was a first book for children by both Rose and Susan.

Awards:

In 2021 she won the Storylines Gavin Bishop Award for her illustrations for The Lighthouse Princess by Susan Wardell. While this is her first children’s book, Rose has illustrated a computer game, a babysitting app, poetry book covers, a wine bottle and her own poetry and comedy calendars.

In writing and performance, she has placed second in the National Poetry Slam and regularly performs her poetry in both literary events and professional comedy lineups.
