The appointment of writer Ben Brown (Ngāti Mahuta, Ngāti Koroki, Ngāti Paoa) Ben Brown as the inaugural Te Awhi Rito New Zealand Reading Ambassador for children and young people was announced by Hon Jan Tinetti, Minister of Internal Affairs, at a function in Wellington on 4 May 2021.
